This document provides an overview of the Bizweaver data integration application.

This document is intended for developers of Bizweaver workflows. Knowledge of standard SQL (Microsoft T-SQL) statements is required.

The following documents contain additional information about the specific components used to construct Bizweaver workflows.

The Bizweaver application is set of tools used to automate data acquisition, data manipulation, file management activities, as-well-as providing data integration into SAP Business One. The various tools provided by Bizweaver are linked together as a set of sequential steps called a workflow.

The Bizweaver application home screen consists of six areas.

3. Workflow list pane
4. Bizweaver tools pane
5. Workflow design pane
6. Active task counter

The Icon Bar provides access to various Bizweaver options and tools used to manage the application.

1. Create new workflow.
   1. Ordered List ItemClears the workflow design area to begin a new workflow.
   2. Any changes that have not been changed in the workflow currently displayed in the design area will be lost.
2. Save currently active workflow.
3. Duplicate the currently active workflow.
   1. Use this option to create a copy of an existing workflow.
   2. The new workflow can be saved in the current folder, or in a different folder. In either case, it will be saved with the same name as the original
4. Delete the currently active workflow.
   1. A deleted workflow cannot be recovered.
5. Enable the “Explorer View” of Bizweaver.
   1. This is the default view when Bizweaver is opened.
6. Enable “Design View” of Bizweaver.
   1. This view displays only the workflow tools and the design area.
      
7. Enable “Task List View” of Bizweaver.
   1. This view displays only the groups and lists of tasks.
      
      

      You can switch the view at any time.

8. Register Assembly
   1. Some workflow tools are independent of the core Bizweaver application, including custom tools. Standard tools are registered automatically during installation/upgrade. The Register Assembly function is used only when a specific tool needs to be updated.
   2. This tool should only be used as directed by Third Wave support personnel.
9. General Settings for Bizweaver
   
   1. Server and Database: The SQL Server instance and database where Bizweaver configuration information is held.
      1. These values are set during installation and cannot be changed here.
   2. Username and Password: The SQL Server user and password used to access the database in 9.a.
      1. SQL Server Authentication is the only authentication method supported.
   3. SQL Timeout: The SQL Server timeout value used by Bizweaver when workflow information is being loaded into the design area.
      1. The default value of 15 (seconds) for the SQL Timeout is adequate for most installations. However, if you are seeing SQL timeout errors when workflows are being loaded, you may want to increase this value
   4. Enable TCP: Special functionality for using Bizweaver across networks.
      1. The most common situation where this functionality is needed is when a database is in a different domain than the one where Bizweaver is running. An example of this situation would be where your business application and database are hosted in a “cloud” environment while Bizweaver is executing in a local domain.
      2. Contact Third Wave support if you believe this functionality may be needed.
   5. Keep all logs for (Days): The number of days to retain Bizweaver log files and processing records.
      1. Values from 3 – 5 are typically adequate.
   6. B1 Installation ID: A number used by Bizweaver to create/validate your application license.
   7. Schedule DI Server Restart: A tool to schedule restart(s) of the SAP Business One DI Server application.
      1. Click the Schedule link to access a scheduling tool.
   8. Click the Save link to save changes.
   9. Click the Create Database Objects link to create database objects (tables, views, etc.) used by the Bizweaver application.
      1. This will normally only be needed on instruction from Third Wave support.
   10. Click the Check License link to contact the Third Wave Business Systems license service.
       1. This function may be needed if you purchase additional Bizweaver licenses and need to refresh your local system with the new value.
   11. Click the Install Service link to install the Bizweaver application service.
       1. This will normally only be needed on instruction from Third Wave support.
   12. Click the Un-install Service link to uninstall the Bizweaver application service.
       1. This will normally only be needed on instruction from Third Wave support.
   13. Click the Stop Service link to stop the Bizweaver application service.
       1. This will normally only be needed on instruction from Third Wave support.
   14. Click the Start Service link to start the Bizweaver application service.
       1. This will normally only be needed on instruction from Third Wave support.
   15. The version of Bizweaver currently executing is shown under the Bizweaver logo.
       1. This will be needed when requesting support.
10. Global Connections Configuration
    1. Used to define connections to database engines (SQL Server & HANA), email services, REST web services, and SAP Business One integration tools (DI Server, DIAPI).

11. Restart SAP Business One DI Server service.
    1. Only used when Bizweaver is being used with SAP Business One.
    2. Start Bizweaver using the right-click > Run as administrator option to ensure the process has adequate operating system permissions.
12. Export / Import
    1. Tools to export and import Bizweaver workflows.
    2. See the “Bizweaver – Export / Import” document for detailed information on these processes.
13. Test Run (Debug) Tool
    1. Executes the currently active workflow in test/debug mode.
    2. See Appendix A – Test Run Tool for more information.
14. View Job Log
    1. View the job log for the currently selected workflow.
    2. The job log displays only log activity for workflows executed using the “Run Now” option or on a schedule.

The “Explorer Area” provides the ability to create/store workflows in folders. These groupings are for organizational convenience only and have no effect on the use of the application. In the standard Explorer area view there are two “panes”; the Folders pane (on the left) and the Workflow pane (on the right). The Workflow pane presents the contents of the folder selected in the Folder pane To add a new folder:

• Select (highlight) the desired parent folder.
• Press the [Insert] key or right-click the parent folder and select Insert to add a child folder (one level below the selected parent OR click “New Root” to create a new parent folder.
• Enter the name of the new folder

To delete a folder:

• Move (or remove) any workflows that are in the target folder.
  • A folder cannot be removed if it holds any workflows.
• Select (highlight) the desired folder.
• Press the [Delete] key or right-click the parent folder and select Delete.
• The folder is deleted.

The Workflow List pane displays a list of workflows in the folder selected in the Folders pane.
