Installation & Upgrade

Installation and updates follow the same set of steps. The only difference is that the Server Configuration values defined in a previous installation will automatically be displayed in an update. The values can be used by clicking [Next] to continue.

Bizweaver Configuration

An application called “Bizweaver Configurator” is automatically launched. This application will configure Bizweaver for use.

Installations require that the information described in the following steps be entered manually.
Upgrades will automatically fill in the information provided in the previous configuration.

Final Installation Steps

The basic installation of Bizweaver is now complete.

Upgrading Bizweaver

Be sure that all instances of the Bizweaver application are ended before beginning the update. You can check this using the Windows Task Manager > Users tab. Do not begin the upgrade if any instances are open.

If Bizweaver will be upraded into a new environment, you must install the original version of Bizweaver in the new environment and then execute the upgrade

To upgrade Bizweaver, follow the installation instructions as outlined above. Bizweaver workflows are stored in the database so that they will remain intact during the upgrade process.

Bizweaver Workflow Upgrade Wizard

A wizard will run after the upgrade completes. This wizard opens and saves each workflow to update any tools that have been upgraded in the newest release of Bizweaver.

Post Upgrade Testing

After an upgrade, it is recommended to check some crucial areas of Bizweaver to confirm the upgrade was successful. This should be standard after all upgrades.

Final Upgrade Steps

Windows Service

The Bizweaver Service uses the “Local System” user by default.

A domain user specifically defined for this purpose should always be used for this service with the following characteristics:

Removing Bizweaver

Uninstall Bizweaver via the standard Windows uninstall process in “Programs and Features” in Control Panel.
