Issue

A Crystal Report being called from a Versago report action link always requests DB login information.
Symptom

A Crystal Report that is called from a Versago report action link does not automatically execute the Crystal Report. Instead the user is prompted for database login credentials.
Cause

1) The database connection type may be incorrect.

2) A Crystal Report “command” may be in use.

3) Sub-reports may be in use.

Resolution Notes

1) The database connection type for the Crystal Report should always be OLE DB (ADO). Other connection types will not work across different databases.

2) In general, “commands” should not be used in Crystal Reports being used with Versago. If the report data absolutely cannot be obtained using the standard Crystal Reports data source selection process, a SQL View should be used as the data source.

3) Check the linking from the main report to the sub-reports. If the linking is incorrect it can cause the report to prompt for database credentials each time the sub-report is called.
