SAP Business One Inventory Transfer with Bins

Using DI Server or DI API to post an inventory transfer transaction in SAP Business One requires some additional configuration as described on this page.

Basic Approach

  1. A record for each From/To combination is needed, including cases where the From and To warehouses are different.
    1. A From/To combination could be one “from” bin and multiple “to” bins.
    2. The total quantity of the “to” bins must equal the “from” quantity.
  2. A value must be provided to use as a breakpoint at the “Stock Transfer” document level.
    1. If using Versago as the source, this would be the vgoRecNum value.
    2. This value does not need to be mapped but could be used as a comment.
  3. A unique value must be provided to use as a breakpoint at the “Stock Transfer Lines” level.
    1. This value is unique for each set of bin movement transactions.
    2. This value could be the ItemCode if that is unique enough, or you may need to assign your own break value.
  1. The Bin Allocations transaction occurs for each record passed into the processing.

Sample (Simple) Input Query

SELECT
0 AS [DocNum], 'A00001' AS [ItemCode], 1 AS [Quantity],2 AS [BinAbs],'05' AS [Warehouse], 2 AS [BinActType], 1 AS [BaseLineNum]
UNION ALL
SELECT
0 AS [DocNum], 'A00001' AS [ItemCode], 1 AS [Quantity],3 AS [BinAbs],'05' AS [Warehouse], 1 AS [BinActType], 1 AS [BaseLineNum]

BinActType 2 = From Bin

BinActType 1 = To Bin

Mapping Sample Images

“DocNum’’ is simply a value used for testing. See comments in the Basic Approach section above. Other values such as Comments can be mapped as needed.

If the From and To warehouses are the same, they can be mapped here instead of at the Stock Transfer Lines level.

“BaseLineNum” in this example is simply a value used for testing. See comments in the Basic Approach section above.

From and To warehouses do not need to be mapped here is mapped at the Stock Transfer level.

“BinAbsEntry” can be obtained by using the following SQL query.

SELECT * FROM OBIN

Against the target company database.

Other Notes

  1. The target bin should either not have any restrictions, or the source item must match any restrictions that are in place.
  2. The target bin should not be identified as a Receiving bin.
