How to reverse Year-End Close Entries
Client processes Year-end close incorrectly. Profit Period on Balance Sheet does not tie to P&L.
Client processes year-end close incorrectly i.e. closes to P&L account or closes periods for current fiscal year. The result is the Profit Period on Balance Sheet report will not tie to P&L statement. The update below will allow you to set the created year-end closing journals to manual journals. The reverse function can then be used to cancel the journals that were created.
Steps: 1. Execute SQL query to write all year-end close entries into temp table. select transid, account, transtype, refdate, debit, credit into reclose from jdt1 where transid in (select transid from jdt1 where account = `X` and transtype = -3 and refdate > `yymmdd`) order by refdate, transid
2. Set created journal entries to Manual update ojdt set AutoStorno = `Y`, stornodate = refdate, transtype = 30, ECDPosTyp = `N` where transid in (select transid from jdt1 where account = `X` and transtype = -3 and refdate > `yyyymmdd)
update jdt1 set transtype = 30 where transid in (select transid from reclose)
3. If applicable, update Posting Period Due Date and Document Date ranges for reverse entries. Post reverse entries.
4. Re-execute Year-end close if applicable to correct accounts in Equity drawer.
