XLR will not load

XLR - “Invalid Metainfo.xml. Character `<` cannot be used in an attribute value”

MetaInfo.xml file gets jumbled with illegal characters

Reference SAP Support Incident 0000734137 from 09302015

1. C:\ProgramFiles\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\XLR\XLReporter and DELETE the MetaInfo.xml file.

2. Create new MetaInfo.xml file in folder and edit with Notepad++ (You may need to download this first). The file should be encoded in UTF-8.

3. Copy the following xml code into the new file: <?xml version=“1.0” encoding=“UTF-8”?> <MetaInfo> <Database provider=“MSSQL” type=“SBOOEM” server=“<server name or IP address>” name=“SBO-COMMON” user=“sa” password=“<sa password>” encrypt =“no”/> </MetaInfo>

4. Replace <server name or IP address> and <sa password> with the actual server name and SQL sa password.

5. Right click on the new XML file → Properties → Read-Only. The file needs to be set to Read Only to prevent the add-on from recreating the .xml file.
