Dave and I figured this out today.

There wasn’t really a silver-bullet. He said we just had to get search parameters such that they returned a list of BP’s and then change the form settings.

Turns out, by searching for “*” in the CardName field, SAP would error and not return results. Searching for “*” in the CardCode field, however worked perfectly fine.

We were able to remove the Bill-To State from the form settings and everything worked.

I wanted to try and get to the bottom of the problem though and see why it broke in the first place. I was able to recreate the scenario in TEST, and by using SQL profiler running the search based on CardCode as opposed to CardName, I was able to view the query results in SSMS. When I did that, I noticed there were two Customer BP’s that had vendor cardcodes and all other fields were NULL. I think this is because someone was in ADD mode and thought they were in FIND mode.

Removing both of these incorrect BPs actually solves my problem completely. Now, we are able to include the Bill To state in the form settings, and all searches are working fine.
