There are five standard buttons that are components of a standard form.

• Save and Close attempts to save the form information to the database.
  • If the “save” process is successful, a “success” message is displayed, the form page is closed, and the user is returned to the Versago home page.
• Save and New attempts to save the form information to the database.
  • If the “save” process is successful, a “success” message is displayed, the form page is cleared of information, any default values are applied, and the page remains open for entry of new information.
• Save attempts to save the form information to the database.
  • If the “save” process is successful a “success” message is displayed and the form page remains open for entry of additional information.
• Delete attempts to remove an existing record.
  • The target record must be retrieved before the delete option can be used. This can be done by linking to the form from a report or by using the Control Events functionality on primary key field of the form.
  • The user is asked to confirm the deletion.
  • If the “delete” process is successful a “success” message is displayed.
• Cancel clears any information currently displayed in the form and the form remains open for entry of new information.
  • The user is asked to confirm the cancellation if any information is found on the form.

Some actions of standard form buttons can be controlled using special options. In all cases the options are accessed by clicking on the configuration (gear) icon on the desired button.

This option is found on the “Control Settings” tab when the button configuration is opened.

When this option is selected, pressing the <Enter> key on a keyboard will be interpreted as having clicked the button. This option is especially helpful when using barcode scanners that can automatically send a <CR><LF> sequence. It then allows for “keyboard free” data entry.

This option is only available on buttons that perform a “Save” action.

These options are accessed by clicking the [Action] button on the “Control Settings” tab described above.

Click on the “Action Name” as shown in the image. This will expose the options described below.

Validate Error Message This is the text of the message displayed to the user when a error occurs during the save or delete process. It can be changed if desired.

Validate Success Message This is the text of the message displayed to the user when a save or delete process is successful. It can be changed if desired.

Suppress Submission Confirmation These options allow you to suppress the display of the “Validate Error Message” and/or “Validate Success Message” described above.

1. Suppressing the success message can be helpful when using the “Map To Enter Key” option described earlier.
2. Caution should be used when considering suppression of error messages. These messages generally alert the user that some required information is missing or there was some error that needs attention.

To save your changes:

1. Click [Add\Update] to save the Action Properties changes.
2. Click [Save] to save the overall button changes.
3. Click [Save] to save and close the Control Settings.
