Container Management (Web Client) Installation Steps

Container Management (Web Client) - Database Object Creation

The first step in the setup of the Container Management (Web Client) application is to install objects in the database.

This process will need to be completed for each of the SAP B1 databases in which you want to use the Container Management (Web Client) application.

  • Launch the Database Object Creation Wizard screen.

  • Complete the connection fields on the screen.

  • Click the Create DB Objects screen.

  • When the database object creation is complete, the user will receive the following message…

  • Open your database management software package.
  • Navigate to your server and B1 database.
  • Open the SBO_SP_PostTransactionNotice stored procedure in the B1 database to alter it.
  • Add the code listed below to the stored procedure.
  • Update the SP to save the changes.

Container Management (Web Client) - User Defined Object Registration

The second step in the setup of the Container Management (Web Client) application is to UDO Reg.

This process will need to be completed for each of the SAP B1 databases in which you want to use the Container Management (Web Client) application.

This process will require that users in the B1 system have their open screens closed because of updates to the database tables. It is recommended that this be done with minimal or no users are logged in.

If you must do this while users are in the system, please alert them to the need to have saved their work before executing the update.

  • Click the SAP menu option titled Object Registration Wizard under the Tools image35.jpeg Customization Tools menus to load the screen.
  • Click the Next button.

  • Select the Update an existing object option.
  • Select the Container Management (TWBS_CONT_HDR) object from the list below.
  • Click the Next button.

  • Copy the Container Management value from the Name field.
  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Menu Item checkbox.
  • Paste the Container Management value into the Menu Caption field.
  • Enter the value 2304 value into the Parent Menu ID field to place your menu item in the SAP B1 Purchasing A/P menu group.
  • Enter the value 2 value into the Position field to place your menu item in the second position of the SAP B1 Purchasing A/P menu group.
  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Select the TWBS_CONT_LINE option for the table from the dropdown.
  • Check the Visible column for the table fields listed in the grid with the following Column Description values.
    • Item Code
    • PO Qty
    • PO Line
    • Price
    • Quantity
    • Item Total
    • Vendor
    • Volume
    • Weight

  • Select the TWBS_CONT_LC option for the table from the dropdown.
  • Check the Visible column for the table fields listed in the grid with the following Column Description values.
    • Amount
    • Code
    • Name
    • Overhead Cost
  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Finiah button.

  • Click the Yes button on the message prompt to close the open B1 screens for all users currently logged in to allow the updates to the database structure. Please notify all users before accepting if there are active users in the system so they can save their work.
  • Click the Finish button.

Container Management (Web Client) - SAP B1 SLD Extension Manager Installation

The third step in the setup of the Container Management (Web Client) application is to register the software in the SAP B1 SLD Extension Manager.

  • Log into the SAP B1 SLD Extension Manager.
  • Click the Import button to load the Extension Import Wizard.
  • Click the Browse button.

  • Navigate to the location of the Container Management (Web Client) installer package.
  • Select the installer package file.
  • Click the Upload button.

  • Review the information for the application on the System Information screen.
  • Click the Approve button.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Finish button.

Once the Container Management (Web Client) application is installed. You will need to assign it to each of the SAP B1 databases that you want to use it in.
